Installing the Add-In
Windows 3.1 Version (16 bit)
The installation diskette contains the following files (in addition to sample spreadsheets):
i) curvtrad.xll
ii) haspmsw3.dll
iii) curvtrad.hlp
1. Copy the curvtrad.xll file into the
EXCEL\LIBRARY directory.
2. Copy the haspmsw3.dll file into the
WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.
3. Copy the curvtrad.hlp file into the
EXCEL directory.
4. Attach the hardware lock
("dongle") on your computer's parallel port.
Windows 95 and Windows NT Versions (32 bit)
The installation diskette contains the following files (in addition to sample spreadsheets):
root directory
i) crvtrd32.xll
ii) curvtrad.hlp
iii) curvtrad.cnt
win_95 directory
i) hlvdd.dll
ii) hardlock.vxd
win_nt directory
i) hlvdd.dll
ii) hlinst.exe
iii) hardlock.sys
1. Copy the crvtrd32.xll file into the
EXCEL\LIBRARY directory.
2. Copy the curvtrad.hlp and
curvtrad.cnt files into the EXCEL directory.
If you are running Windows 95:
3. Copy the hardlock.vxd and hlvdd.dll
files from the \\win_95 directory of the installation disk to
your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. They will be loaded as needed by
the hardware lock system.
4. Attach the hardware lock to a
parallel port on your computer.
Otherwise, if you are running Windows NT:
3. Open a DOS box (command line mode)
from a log-in user who has Administrator privileges (one will
need to have the appropriate permissions to modify the system
registry).
4. Switch to the \win_nt directory of
the installation disk, and type: "hlinst ." (note the
space and period!) to install the hardware lock drivers. To
uninstall the drivers, type "hlinst -d".
5. Attach the hardware lock to a
parallel port on your computer.
